CDL Driver

Welsh, LA | Full-Time | $25 / Hr

We are seeking a dependable CDL A Driver in Welsh, Louisiana. This position involves moving trailers between yard, plant, and warehouse locations using a day cab tractor, as well as local pick-up and delivery of freight.

Job Summary

The driver will ensure timely and safe transport of cargo within the local area, perform regular vehicle inspections, and uphold company and DOT safety standards. This is a full-time, hourly role with responsibilities focused on freight handling, compliance, and communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport trailers and freight locally using a day cab tractor.
• Perform accurate and timely pick-up and delivery of freight.
• Complete all documentation and maintain logs per regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck and trailer.
• Communicate with dispatch and supervisors regarding any delays, issues, or accidents.
• Maintain cleanliness and basic care of assigned vehicle.
• Report all customer complaints, freight damage, traffic citations, and mechanical issues.
• Attend required safety and training programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 2–3 years of recent, verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
• Valid CDL A with clean driving record (2 or fewer violations in last 2 years)
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to heavy lift and perform physical job duties
• Knowledge of regulations and basic vehicle maintenance
• Strong spatial awareness, depth perception, and reaction time
• Willingness to work in various weather and terrain conditions

Work Schedule

• Day Shift
•  Sunday-Tuesday and every other Wednesday from 6 am - 6 pm

Pay Rate

$25 an hour
