Introducing the Vinton Mardi Gras Heritage Foundation – Supporting the Workforce of Tomorrow
In the heart of Southwest Louisiana, where culture, tradition, and community pride run deep, a new foundation is emerging with a powerful purpose. The Vinton Mardi Gras Heritage Foundation was recently established by a passionate group of community members with one mission in mind: to support students who are pursuing vocational and technical careers after high school.
While college is a path for some, many young people in western Calcasieu Parish are preparing to enter the workforce through skilled trades like welding, carpentry, mechanics, electrical work, and the culinary arts. These students deserve meaningful opportunities—and the resources to help them succeed.
Starting this year, the Foundation is proud to launch the Vinton Mardi Gras Celebration, a festive community event that will both honor local heritage and serve as a major fundraiser for vocational and technical education students in the region. Proceeds will help cover the costs of tools, certifications, uniforms, competition travel, and more—easing the financial burden on students and their families as they pursue hands-on careers that keep our communities strong.
At its core, the Vinton Mardi Gras Heritage Foundation is about more than just a parade. It’s about investing in our youth, preserving our traditions, and building a brighter future through education and opportunity.
We invite you to follow the Vinton Mardi Gras Heritage Foundation on social media to stay up to date on upcoming events and learn how you can support or participate in our mission.
