Introducing the Vinton Mardi Gras Heritage Foundation

I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out on behalf of the Vinton Mardi Gras Heritage Foundation to share our story and the purpose behind our work.

Our foundation was recently formed by a group of community members who recognized the need to support students who may not follow the traditional four-year college path after high school. These students—many of whom pursue careers in skilled trades—deserve strong support and access to opportunity as they prepare to enter the workforce.

Beginning this year, we are proud to launch the Vinton Mardi Gras celebration, a community-wide event that will not only honor our heritage and culture but also serve as a major fundraiser for local vocational and technical education students in western Calcasieu Parish. Funds raised through this and other events will go directly toward helping students with equipment costs, certification fees, competition travel, and more. Our mission is to ensure these young people have every chance to succeed in careers such as welding, carpentry, mechanics, electrical work, culinary arts, and beyond.

At its core, the Vinton Mardi Gras Heritage Foundation stands for community pride, tradition, and building a stronger future through education and opportunity. We'd love the opportunity to connect with 337 to help spread the word about our mission, upcoming events, and the impact we hope to make across Southwest Louisiana.
