Local ad agency celebrates friendship and 20 years
One of the founding partners of BBR Creative said it’s not only an accomplishment the business celebrated its 20th anniversary, but also that the three founding partners have been able to remain friends for so long as well.
Cherie Hebert, Cathi Pavi and Sara Ashy started their creative advertising agency in 1997 after working together at an advertising agency in Lafayette. They started as four, but now have 37 people employed at the company.
“I guess it’s a real accomplishment that three women were able to remain friends and be in business together this long,” Hebert said. She added that because each woman had her own place at the business with different responsibilities, it helped them work together.
“Because we each had a lane, it really enabled us to work together this long — and it’s been fun working with your friends,” Hebert said. “The more we grow, the more challenges that happen; it doesn’t come without difficulty, but it’s been fun.”
The three started as graphic artists, but added services as needed or requested by clients. Now, the company does integrated marketing campaigns for both online and offline audiences.
“I think what really sets us apart is that we have a high standard for our creative product,” Hebert said.
From an innovation standpoint, BBR Creative aims to stay on the edge of innovative digital programs that would help their clients market in the 21st century, Hebert said.
“Clients are much more challenged now to market their business because there are so many media choices and so many marketing choices. Sometimes it’s more difficult for clients to have the same type of budget they’ve always had,” Hebert said. It’s a good thing this trio is decisive and able to offer affordable solutions.
