La Crêperie Bistro brings European staple to Lafayette
Destination Location: Located in Parc Lafayette in the middle of the hottest, most vibrant area of Lafayette on Camellia at Kaliste Saloom, La Crêperie Bistro proves that Lafayette is staying on the cutting edge of dining.
A Family Affair: Husband and wife owners Edgardo Padron and Monica Luis along with Edgardo’s sister, Johanna Padron, bring their fresh and twisted concept of a traditional European crêperie to the Hub City.
Concept: Sweet and savory crêpes filled with wonderful things. Go ahead and get the Night in Madrid…just get it.
A World of Experience: All three owners are well traveled and have lived in various parts of the world including Italy, Spain, Venezuela and the United States, of course.
Local Flavor: In addition to the one, two, three punch of Edgardo and family, they have brought in local talent Quintin Skrantz. Quintin is the head chef and general manager who also works on menu development, concentrating on bringing the Louisiana connection to the place. Look for some crawfish offerings.
Man Cannot Live by Crêpes Alone: So much more than sweet and savory crêpes! La Crêperie offers paninis, salads and soups. Add to that top level coffees, standalone desserts, local beers and a great wine selection and it’s easy to see that this place is full of lagniappe.
337 Inside Scoop: Edgardo and company want to introduce the complexities of coffee and brew techniques. Look for pour over brewing table side, french press and traditional extractions. They also use local roasters Analine to perfect their beans.
Menu Favorites: The Mediterranean, Mexican, Night in Madrid and Alfredo crêpes have earned the top spots for fan favorites, but there is much to taste.
