Kiwanis Club hosts event at Crying Eagle Brewery
The Kiwanis Club of Lake Charles is kicking off its 30th annual Coats for Kids and once again we are being helped by Lake Charles’s own craft brewery, Crying Eagle. The “Coats for Kids Spooktacular” will be held on Saturday, October 28 from 5-10 pm at the brewery.
Bring a coat of any size and get a free Crying Eagle beer glass and a free raffle ticket for great prizes. Then stick around for the party. Specialty beers along with gumbo and fixings will be available for purchase. Plus you can enjoy great music, participate in auctions, tour the brewery, and meet with friends. Please join us in doing good while having fun.
For 29 years, the Kiwanis Club has placed boxes for coats collection in schools. Donated coats are cleaned by our partner AAA Drive-in Cleaners and distributed to nine local agencies. Each year about 1000 coats are delivered to Potters House, Harbor House, The Lord’s Place, Boys Village, Oasis Women’s Shelter, Solomon’s Porch, Abraham’s Tent, Care Help of Sulphur, DeWanna’s Community Closet, and CPSB Title 10-Assistance to Homeless Children.
So please help keep our area residents warm and dry. There is never a shortage of need for coats in winter.
The Crying Eagle Brewing Company is located at 1165 E. McNeese St., Lake Charles, LA. We continue to seek sponsors for our Coats for Kids campaign. For more info, contact Steve Ek at 337.474.1622.
