Enlightening ideas for singles
Being single doesn’t have to mean being bored and cooped up inside. Nor does it mean hitting up the bars every night and being discouraged to go places alone. Get active, get involved, make some friends and experience life in different perspectives!
Here are a few healthy, fun things for single people to do while staying connected.
Join a gym
Find a gym that is activity-focused or offers interactive group classes like kickboxing and circuit training. Many class members attend the same classes routinely, and faces will begin to seem familiar.
Go to the farmers market
Almost every city in the 337 has a farmers market, usually on the weekends. Do some research and find out what other activities are going on at local parks and venues.
Visit an art walk
Getting to know local artists is inspiring, especially since they are so abundant in south Louisiana. Grab a friend (or don’t) and take a stroll around a local gallery, exhibit showing or art walk.
Book a group trip
Find an upcoming group trip like kayaking or a 5k, and join it! Don’t be afraid to try something new, because everyone’s a first timer at some point.
Get involved with a local non-profit organization or chamber of commerce. Networking and offering your free time is self-rewarding, plus you attract friends with similar interests and goals.
