LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — AAA Travel projects 5.8 Million people will be airline passengers this holiday day weekend. In fact, some have decided to fly-out on the 4th of July. At the Lafayette Regional Airport, people make their way through the airport.
Some travel for reasons that have nothing to do with the holiday but are still willing to brave the hustle and bustle of holiday traveling to get to where they need to go.
Traveler Jesiah Pollock is on his way to his destination.
“We just have a mission trip to go to. This is our day. We have a bunch of people traveling,” Pollock said
People primarily travel to be with family, enjoy some BBQ and celebrate Independence Day. Pollock travels for a purpose unrelated to the 4th of July.
“Thats okay we don’t need it.” Pollock added.
Acadiana resident Kolby Chretien spreads his airline passenger wings to celebrate the holiday in another location.
“Just looking for something to do,” Chretien added.
For Chretin that something to do will land him in Florida.
“To see some of my friends. I’m going to meet some of my friends out there.”
According to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) passengers should bring their Real ID or other acceptable forms of identification.
