LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – After starting out the day with high humidity, temperatures rise fast under mostly sunny skies. Highs reach the mid 90s this afternoon with feels-like temperatures near 105 degrees. A few storms are possible, but most areas will remain rain-free. Tonight, all rain ends as temperatures settle in the 70s under partly cloudy skies.

Sunday will start out with more high humidity. Temperatures will climb into the mid 90s during the afternoon hours with feels-like temperatures once again pushing 105 degrees. Pop-up storms will bring some cooling relief to a lucky few areas.

The tropics remain quiet and no development is expected through the next 7 days.

After starting the new work week with a few hot and humid Monday, rain chances increase as southerly winds push in. This will bring multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms to the area and some heavier rain at times, especially around midweek. The clouds and rain will help keep temperatures a bit cooler as highs only reach around 90 degrees. This more active pattern continues through the end of the week.
