LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -After starting out with mostly dry conditions, storms develop towards midday. These storms will once again be slow-moving and could cause flood concerns for areas that have seen heavy rainfall the past few days. Highs today reach the upper 80s. Models do show storms lingering through the evening hours today, so make sure you have a backup plan for any outdoor fun celebrating Dad.

Heading into the new workweek, storms still hang around the area. Monday could see another round of heavy rain around the area. Temperatures will likely reach 90 degrees in the afternoon.

The tropics remain quiet and no development is expected in the Atlantic Basin through the next 7 days.

The rest of this week will see a return to typical June weather with daily storm chances and temperatures in the lower 90s. Some areas could approach the mid 90s by next weekend.
