SCOTT, La. (KLFY)-Witnesses told News 10 multiple gunshots were fired near a nightclub in Scott early Saturday morning.

According to witnesses, alleged gunshots rang out around 2am Saturday at a convenience store across from the nightclub.

One witness, who chose to stay anonymous, shared a video showing the gunfire.

“I seen everybody running and I’m like oh my gosh, they’re shooting, they’re shooting,” the witness said.

The witness said she and a friend were about to leave the nightclub around 2am when they heard what sounded like gunshots being fired.

After she saw the police rushed to scene, she saw an alleged victim laying on the ground while paramedics tried to revive them. Unfortunately, she said the person appeared lifeless.

“I seen they flipped over the dude, and they tried to give him CPR, but it looked like it wasn’t working, he just looked lifeless, that was really it,” said the witness.

She said she sends her condolences to the alleged victim’s family and said if security at the club were more effective, she feels this could have been prevented.

“My condolences are sent to his family, I don’t wish that upon my worst enemy at all,” said the witness.

“I feel like the security at cowboys can be a little better when it comes down to stuff like this, because even though you don’t know the people that’s going to come out, or an estimate amount of the people that’s going to come, you need to stay ready so you won’t have to get ready,” said the witness.

The witness added while she was out enjoying time with friends, she never imagined it could be someone’s last night alive.

“We thinking we going to have a good time not knowing that it could be our last night, we having fun with our friends, but whole time your life about to end within the next few minutes or the next hour or so,” the witness said.

The Scott Police Department has not yet released any details to News 10 regarding the incident. This is a developing story. We will update as more information is released.
