LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Summer heat and humidity are here to stay as temperatures jump quickly through Saturday. Highs reach near 90 degrees during the afternoon. Isolated storms will develop this afternoon to help cool temperatures down a bit for a lucky few.

Overnight, temperatures fall into the 70s with a few passing clouds. Sticky air will make it feel fairly uncomfortable Sunday morning. Sunday will see a mix of clouds and sun with pop-up storms developing late in the day. These will be slow-movers and could lead to ponding on the roads.

Next week, the weather pattern turns much stormier with passing disturbances each day. Some of these storms will produce heavy rain and flooding will be possible in flood-prone areas. Severe weather is currently not expected, but keep up with the weather this week in case things change. Outside of the stormy weather, temperatures will be a bit better as they hold in the 80s thanks to the extra cloud cover and rain chances.
