PLAQUEMINE, La. (KLFY) – A Patterson man was killed in a car crash in Iberville Parish.

Authorities identify the victim as 31-year-old Sky Valenciano of Patterson.

Authorities say t Valenciano was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer south on LA 77. For reasons still under investigation, the Chevrolet exited the roadway to the left and struck a utility pole.

Valenciano was unrestrained and was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. A front seat passenger in the Chevrolet was properly restrained and sustained only minor injuries. Impairment is not suspected at this time; however, a standard toxicology sample was taken and will be submitted for analysis. 

This crash remains under investigation.
