NEWS IBERIA, La. (KLFY) – A New Iberia man was convicted Thursday of jury tampering.

16th Judicial District Attorney M. Michael Haik says 39-year Travis Layne made attempts to contact a juror in a previously scheduled trial.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for September 29, 2025. Because of the nature of the underlying offense, the potential penalty for jury tampering is not more than thirty years at hard labor.
