WESTLAKE CORNER, Va. (WFXR) — Some of the top professional bass anglers in the world visited Smith Mountain Lake to fish in the nationally-televised Major League Fishing B&W Heavy Hitters All-Star Tournament this past week.
One of the fan favorites, Cliff Crochet, goes by the nickname, “Cajun Baby.”
Crochet is a former member of law enforcement from Pierre Part, Louisiana. He is known for his fishing ability, sense of humor, and especially for his unique nickname.
“The Cajun Baby, that was the smartest, stupidest think I ever cam up with,” said Crochet. “It’s just fun, gets attention, and it starts good conversations.”
Crochet finished in the top 16 at the MLF Heavy Hitters event at Smith Mountain Lake.
