CHURCH POINT, La. (KLFY) – A Church Point man is accused of beating a 3 year old child.

Authorities say 25-year Corey Keith Scott Jr. was arrested in connection to the case.

Authorities say during their investigation the uncovered the 3-year-old child had been beat with a phone charger wire causing several marks bruises and lacerations on their buttocks and lower back and legs.

Scott was arrested without incident after he was found hiding in a closet in the home. The mother of the child was not present at the time the incident occurred. Scott was later transported and booked into the Acadia Parish Jail to await bond.
