At the Healing House, local children coping with loss find hope.
Guiding children and teens through grief brought on by the tragic loss of a loved one can be a difficult process. Unable to cope alone, some kids need a helping hand to guide them through the fog and anger. Fortunately, Louisiana families are not alone.
The Healing House, a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization, provides comfort, hope, and support for grieving kids free of charge. Volunteers help by leading activities, interactive play, art, discussion groups and more to teach grief-stricken kids how to cope with their loss and know they are not alone.
Attending adults have the opportunity to speak with other adults present or spend time alone. The Healing House relies on donations (which can be made at http://healing-house.org/Product/Default.asp), and all charitable donations are tax deductible.
By going online and printing a Tini Tuesday Tour coupon from the Healing House’s website, patrons can receive a free Absolut martini with the purchase of an entrée at the participating restaurant. For $1, guests can cast their vote for Lafayette’s best Absolut martini. All proceeds will directly benefit the Healing House.
The Tini Tuesday Tour culminates on August 19 with the Martinis 2017 Gala. The gala will feature live and silent auctions, martinis from all participating restaurants, live music by Souled Out, and more.
