Foreigner releases another hit – one you can drink!
LAKE CHARLES, La.—When great music and quality brews come together, special things happen. Crying Eagle Brewing Company was proud to host members of the legendary rock band Foreigner at its brew house on Friday, Jan. 27, prior to the band’s sold-out show at Golden Nugget Casino Resort in Lake Charles.
When Foreigner’s national tour brought them through Southwest Louisiana, a pit stop at Louisiana’s latest-and-greatest brewery topped the list for members Michael Bluestein and Bruce Watson, both craft brew aficionados. When the band’s manager Phil Carson reached out to the Crying Eagle team, President Eric Avery sought to celebrate this milestone for the young brewery.
“This was the perfect opportunity to create a brand new brew to commemorate Foreigner’s visit,” said Avery. “Foreigner worked with our team to create a beer that reflected the band’s impetuous personality. What came from the collaboration was our newest brew: ‘Hop Blooded.’”
Hop Blooded is a full-flavored, dry-hopped IPA in what will be Crying Eagle’s Rotational IPA series. Biscuity malts and a unique seven-hop blend help this brew sing a tasty tune. This one-of-a-kind beer will soon be available at the Crying Eagle taproom in Lake Charles and beyond. Hop Blooded… check it and see!
“Bruce and I recently finished the CBS (Certified Beer Server) course,” said Foreigner’s keyboardist Michael Bluestein, “and upon completion I decided it was only fitting that I change my name from Bluestein to Brewstein! In the burgeoning craft beer scene, it’s always a treat to get a first hand look into the magical brewing process and, of course, taste the fruits of their labor. We look forward to continuing this hops- and malt-filled adventure as the band travels throughout the country.”
Foreigner is a British-American rock band with ten multi-platinum albums and sixteen Top 30 hits. Responsible for some of rock and roll’s most enduring anthems including “Juke Box Hero,” “Feels Like The First Time,” “Urgent,” “Head Games,” “Hot Blooded,” “Cold As Ice,” “Dirty White Boy,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You,” and the worldwide #1 hit, “I Want To Know What Love Is,” Foreigner continues to rock the charts almost 40 years into the game.
